The students of 5th grade have done different experiments to learn about the composition of the soil.
We began with two questions they had to answer by making different hypothesis and doing the experiment.
- Does the soil contains air?
In the first experiment, they have put some water in a tube containing 100 ml of soil. The concution was that when we put the water, we saw some bubbles of air. So we can prove that the soil contains air.
- Can we separate the different parts of the soil?
In the second experiment, they put some water in a jar containing soil too. Then we waited for some minutes and we saw that the soil started to separate into different parts, so we can saw sand, silt and clay.
