Hello! My name is Abdullah, and I am delighted to share my story as I embark on an extraordinary internship adventure at Escola Enric Farreny in Lleida Spain. I am born and raised in Hong Kong and currently I am in the final years of my bachelor’s degree in sports exercise and health in Malta. As I embark on my third Erasmus program, I bring with me a wealth of experiences from previous internships and exchanges in Turkey and the Netherlands. In this article, I will delve into my background, interests, and the invaluable experiences that have shaped my path towards this internship opportunity.
Growing up in Hong Kong, a multicultural hub, I have always embraced the beauty of diversity. This appreciation is reflected in my ability to communicate in six different languages. While I regret not being fluent in Spanish and Catalan, I am excited to immerse myself in the vibrant culture and language of Spain during my internship. The opportunity to engage with students, teachers, and the local community will undoubtedly deepen my understanding of Spanish culture and broaden my perspectives on education.
Sports have always been an integral part of my life, and I am fortunate to have pursued my passion as a swimming and football coach. Guiding young athletes through their sporting journey brings me immense joy and satisfaction. As a coach, I have witnessed the transformative power of sports, instilling discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in individuals. My own experience representing the national team in Taekwondo has taught me the value of dedication and mental fortitude. I look forward to sharing my expertise and enthusiasm for physical education with the students in the primary school.
Traveling is a true passion of mine, and I have been fortunate enough to explore over 30 countries across the globe. Each journey has been an opportunity to immerse myself in diverse cultures, traditions, and languages. These experiences have broadened my horizons, challenged my perspectives, and ignited a deep appreciation for the beauty of our world. Through travel, I have learned to embrace diversity, foster connections, and celebrate the rich tapestry of humanity. I am excited to bring these global perspectives into the primary school setting, promoting cultural understanding and inspiring curiosity in the young minds I will interact with.
My role here as a physical education and English language assistant, I am thrilled to combine my passions for sports and language learning. Physical education not only nurtures physical fitness but also fosters teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. I believe in creating a positive and inclusive environment where students can develop their motor skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of an active lifestyle. Moreover, my proficiency in English will allow me to assist students in improving their language skills, opening doors to greater opportunities for communication and cross-cultural understanding. I am excited to begin this exciting educational adventure alongside all of you!
