Γειά σε όλους/Hello everyone!
My name is Maria Galiti and I come from Thessaloniki, which is the second biggest city in Greece. Let me introduce myself! I am twenty five years old. Seven years ago, I started studying Theology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and, then, I decided to change my field, doing my master degree in the field of Special Education in Cyprus, because of the fact that my biggest weakness in life is people with Special Needs
P.S. But why I changed my field? In summary, I had a volunteering experience in the past, as a chaperone for a lady with special needs, and it immediately sparked my sensitivity to learn more.
In the past, since I was seven years old, I had the opportunity to participate in many concerts around places of Greece, such as Athens, Corfu and Nauplius and, also, abroad, like in United States, Romania and Russia, as a member of a choir in my hometown, named Choir of S. S. Cyril & Methodius, directed by the conductor Maria Emma Meligkopoulou. So, as you can easily understand, I am a cultural soul full of energy for travel and musical experiences.
Why did I choose to come to a country like Spain? Even if I don’t know the language, I believe that the Spanish people have a lot in common with my country in the way they speak and the way they live. Living in this beautiful city, I hope to learn the basics so that I can communicate with the people around me without difficulty.
Although I am not an elementary school teacher, since I became an adult, I wanted to know the field of elementary education, so that I could transfer my love to all children, whether they are younger or older. When I see their smiles or their spontaneous hugs to my face, the harsh world that I live in changes in their faces.
I am sure that the school I am in, as a student of the program Erasmus, will provide me with all those supplies, so that I can become a better professional and be able, after this experience, to pass on my new knowledge to other children in my country and beyond.
Finally, I am very happy that I will share my existing ideas with children and the fact that I will gain great moments with my other colleagues from other countries at this creative school. So, let’s travel together to that beautiful trip, full of knowledge and learnings!
