ERASMUS+ PROJECT: OUR TRIP TO POLAND

On the 15th of September, a few students travelled to Poland for a week, and I was one of them.

We woke up at six o’clock and we took a bus to Barcelona airport. We had to wait for a long time. We went through security controls and we walked around the duty-free section. Finally, we got on the plane and we flew to Poland.

Three hours later, we arrived in Poland. All the signs were in Polish. Luckily there were a few of them in English. The bags didn’t arrive, so we had to wait. The airline ‘Lot’ gave us some sparkling water and a lollypop. Our bags finally arrived and we went outside.  Another group of Erasmus+ students were waiting for us in the lobby. We took a minibus together and drove to Smardzevice.

All of the Polish students were standing outside the school waiting for us. It was around 8 o’clock, but the moon had risen up and everything was dark. We met our host and we went to our new house. All the houses were giant and very beautiful. We ate apple pancakes for dinner and we went to bed. On our beds there were two gifts: a bag and some lights.

The family that hosted us was very kind and the girl, Hania, that participated in the Erasmus+ was very funny and polite.

The next morning, we woke up and we went to church. It was Sunday, so it wasn’t a school day. The church was small but beautiful. There was a children choir that sung, and seven altar boys.

We went back home and we ate a typical Polish meal: some chicken soup with spaghettis, and some meat with bacon and palm fruit.

After that, we went to visit ‘The Blue Lake’. There was some hot water under the sand and that made the sand white; with the water on it, it looked like a blue lake. The other parts were green.

Later, we went to a pizzeria with their cousins and a friend of theirs who also participated in the Erasmus+; and the boys they hosted in their home were there too. They asked us to sing ‘Despacito’, because they liked it a lot but they didn’t know how to pronounce it; that was so much fun! They didn’t really know how to make some Spanish sounds!

We also went to a park near our home, riding bikes! It was like a movie! We had a lot of fun there and we also met some other friends of our hosts.

The following days we did a lot of activities, but I’m just going to explain my favourite ones, or I would never end.

My favourite activity was when we went to Zuza’s (a friend of Hania’s that also participated in the Erasmus+) to make a bonfire. All her classmates were there and the house was huge, we had a lot of fun! We drove a quad, we cooked sausages in a fire, we showed them Spanish games and they showed us Polish games…. It was amazing!

I also loved our trip to Warsaw (we were looking for a Polish restaurant, but they were very expensive, so we ended up eating a kebab!) and the school disco.

The last day was very sad. We had a party and when someone began to go home, everybody started crying and giving hugs…

The next day we woke up at three o’clock. Our Polish family gave us a lot of food for our parents: Polish chocolate, home-made jam and lemonade, cookies… We cried again when we had to go… We will miss them a lot! Hopefully, they will come to Spain soon!
