INS La Miquela high school is taking part this year in the project “International day of forests interactive map” which is promoted by the teacher Olivier Girard from France. Several schools from around the world are participating in this online project that fosters the protection of forests, which are essential for all living beings, and promotes a greater awareness among students about the benefits of trees around us.
About 20 students from our school were involved this morning in the plantation of an olive tree in our courtyard. We have chosen this variety as it doesn’t require much irrigation. We want to highlight that our country is suffering at the moment a very severe drought and saving water strategies are really necessary at the moment.
We believe that this is a wonderful initiative that builds up a new consciousness towards nature and the need to protect our environment.
