As in the last years, our high school is taking part of the eTwinning project, which offers a platform for staff, working in a school in one of the European countries involved, to communicate, collaborate, develop projects, share and, in short, feel and be part of the most exciting learning community in Europe. One of the most important aspects is having the support from home to make the CLIL system work well. Sometimes it is difficult for families to support their children, especially in a foreign language. Therefore, it is very important to follow the student’s progress and detect in time if there is a lack of this support from home. In this case, a solution should be provided for these students, such as doing an extra session to update them and hence they can continue at the same level as the rest of the class.… Llegeix més»

The development of the first language is one of the aims of CLIL. When children are managing more than one language, different stages of mixing and interfering are usual as a part of the whole process. There is no evidence showing that if learning in the additional language will hurt the first language though. Furthermore, if we make children capable of thinking about any concept in different languages we will help enrich their way of thinking and connecting ideas.… Llegeix més»
