Erasmus+ a Grècia

On Sunday 29th of May we woke up early in the morning, had breakfast all together and took the minibus before 9 o’clock to get to Pyrgos. After 3 hours and a half we arrived at 2nd Primary School of Pyrgos, where all the Greek families were waiting for us! It was such a warm welcome! Each of us went to the families’ homes and spent the whole day with them. It was great to see our Greek friends again!

The following day, Monday 30th May, we arrived at the school 2nd Primary of Pyrgos and had a look at the whole premises. Later, we walked around the city of Pyrgos and entered the Town Hall, where a series of welcoming activities were prepared. After that, we visited the Orthodox Church of the city and the Archaelogical Museum.

On Tuesday the 31st of May, we went trekking at the hill of Katakolo. There, we walked for about 20 minutes, stopped for a rest and drank some water, and then we continued until we arrived at the beach. On the beach, they showed us how to set up a tent. After that, we went into the water for about 15 minutes. After getting out and changing clothes, we went to the bus to go to the Aldemar Olympian Village Hotel. There, we were shown how to make some typical Greek dishes following the Mediterranean diet. We tasted them and we were given them for lunch. The teachers gave us 1 hour of free time. After that, we had a symposium on the benefits of the Mediterranean diet and when it finished we took the bus and went home. At 17:00, we all met up to play football.

On June the 1st, we got up early to go to school. Once there, we went to the computer room to see the results of the previous day’s survey and a video on health applications. Later, we took the bus to go to the “Mercouri” winery where we saw fruit, animals and wine. When we finished, we went to see the owner’s house and took pictures. We took the bus again to go to the Skafidia monastery where we spent 20 minutes visiting it, then we took the bus to go to Skafidia beach. When we got to the beach, we left our things and Laura and I got into the water. Later Monica got in the water too and we went out to persuade the boys to get in too. We spent a good time together. After that, we went out of the water to play traditional games. Finally, we went to eat at a restaurant next to the port. When we finished we had some ice cream. We went back home and we all met in the afternoon to play in the park.

On June the 2nd, we woke up early to go to school. Once there we took the bus and went to the Olympic Games area in Olympia, where we entered a room to watch a video on the Olympic Games. When we finished watching the video, all the Spaniards signed in a book that they had at the entrance. We went to the track where the athletes run and there we did some archery to be ready for an archery contest. After a while we went to a workshop, we were divided into two groups and there we saw how the sculptures are carved and then with clay we had to did an apple. Then, waiting for the other half group, Sara and I went to see things, we saw a crown of Greek gods and we bought them, then Mónica told Sara, Fabio, David and me to visit some ruins and took some photos. A funny anecdote was that the security girls thought we had stolen stones from there, as we were carrying our pottery work in plastic bags. Later, we went back to take the bus and stopped at a wonderful restaurant where the food was very good. After a while, we got back on the bus and went home, in a while we went to play in Sophia’s house and, finally, I had dinner and called my mother to talk to her and also to David, the 3 of us laughed a lot and then I went to sleep.

And the last day in Greece,

On Friday 3rd June we visited Archea Olympia and the Archaelogic Museum. We had fun in a running race where Fabio became the male winner. He was put an olive leaves crown as if he were a real Greek athlete. In the afternoon, we had lunch in a beautiful winery and certificates were delivered. The farewell party ended with traditional dances. It became an unforgettable day!
