As part of our involvement in the INCLUDE Erasmus+ program, we decided to try out some of the lessons that our Bisbe Berenguer teachers and also educators from Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Romania have designed for Secondary Schools in Europe. These lessons are developed entirely in English; they have an important digital component and also cover different subjects using CLIL/AICLE strategies.
In “Ancient Gods in our lives”, students from 2nd year have explored the universe of mythology doing a bit of research on Roman, Greek and Norse stories. They learned about Zeus, Venus, Cupid, Hercules, Thor, Juno, Odin and Cassandra, among many others, as they were able to compare similarities and differences between myths.
Students also traced how some of those myths became popular expressions in English, and transferred, in our languages too. They illustrated what they learned by creating very brief videos to show how they are used today in context.
