English Day 2022

Last week, 24th March, we celebrated a new edition of English Day at our school. The whole main purpose was to boost the use of the English language by as many teachers as possible. Most of them prepared a special unit in which some CLIL activities were carried out for the students so that they felt that on that day, the English language was the real tool of communication at the school. We made sure that each group of our students had the chance of having some extra English taught by a non-specifically English teacher.

Apart from what the English students did in class with their other teachers, the English Department prepared some additional activities to celebrate this day of English language and culture. In the playground, we did some team games with all the 1^st ESO students, such as Running dictations and Dodgeball, while other students were dancing to some traditional Scottish music in the school. We also set up an English Booth in one of the classrooms where a few volunteer students came over to say what English means to them and how important it is in their everyday life.

Finally, we had some reporters from Bisbe’s Making Movies subject and Educació audiovisual, both from 3ESO, who covered the activities carried out throughout the whole day. Our students were filmed while doing all the different tasks and games in English. All this amazing material has already been posted on the web of our school.
