WE ARE A GEP SCHOOL

GEP (Grup d´Experimentació per al Plurilingüisme) is a group whose main aim is to foster the use of foreign languages at school in compulsory and elective subjects.

In a global world, knowing and using other languages becomes an essential tool for students, either within education or in their future career.

This approach is based on CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning), AICLE in Catalan (Aprenentatge Integrat de Contingut i Llengua) that promotes:

  • cross-curricular learning and competency-based learning

  • developing learning strategies

  • students´active participation

  • curiosity and personal initiative

OBJECTIVES:

  • Improve foreign languages in compulsory secondary education

  • Apply CLIL/AICLE methodology in class

  • Handle diversity and promote excellence

  • Foster educational and cultural exchange programmes

  • Develop collaborative work

  • Consolidate trained and qualified teachers who can teach their subject in a foreign language.

  • Raise awareness of the importance of foreign languages in a global and multilingual society

At the moment some subjects are taught partially in English. At Bisbe Berenguer the aim is to widen this project gradually to more subjects.

2nd year: Science (laboratory classes)

3rd year: Science, Technology and Classical Culture (elective subject)

4th year: Social studies (History)
