We are very happy to welcome Paige to Escola Rosa Campà as our English Language Assistant for this school year!
She will be joining our school from early November until the end of May, bringing her enthusiasm, experience and love of languages and different cultures to our classrooms.
[Name] comes from Burlington, a small town just outside Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She recently graduated from Endicott College, where she studied Elementary Education and obtained her teaching licence for elementary school.
Her interest in other cultures and in discovering the world began during her university years. In her third year of college, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Cork, Ireland, where she lived for five months and took education courses at Munster Technological University. This experience strengthened her love of travelling and learning about different cultures.
Throughout her degree, she completed internships in different schools and with different age groups, gaining experience in a variety of classroom settings. She particularly enjoyed working with students whose first language was not English, an experience that will be especially valuable during her time at Escola Rosa Campà.
She also works as a summer camp counsellor, where she has had the opportunity to work with children from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Some of the children she has worked with speak Mandarin, Japanese or French, while others come from families who speak Portuguese or Spanish at home. These experiences have helped her develop a real interest in connecting with children from different backgrounds and finding ways to communicate and learn together.
We are sure that her enthusiasm for education, languages and different cultures will enrich our school community. We hope that her time at Escola Rosa Campà will be a wonderful experience for her, and that our pupils will enjoy discovering more about English, American culture and life in Massachusetts through everyday activities, conversations and shared experiences.
