This term we study Andy Warhol. He was an American visual artist, film director, producer and leading figure in the Pop Art movement. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, advertising, and celebrity culture and span a variety of media, including painting, silkscreening, photography, film and sculpture. Some of his best-known works include the silkscreen paintings Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyn Diptych.

Students discover the artist Joan Miró. He was a Catalan painter, sculptor and ceramist born in Barcelona. He was notable for his interest in the unconscious or the subconscious mind, reflected in his re-creation of the childlike.

This term we have learnt about Antoni Gaudí and his most famous artworks. He was a Catalan architect, known as the greatest exponent of Modernism. Gaudi’s works have a highly individualized style. Most are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the Sagrada Família.
Gaudí’s work was influenced by his passions in life: architecture, nature and religion. He considered every detail of his creations and integrated them into his architecture such crafts as ceramics, stained glass, ironwork forging, and carpentry.

This term we have known Paul Klee and his most famous artworks.
Paul klee was a Swiss-born German artist. His style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism and surrealism. Klee was a natural draftsman who experimented with and eventually deeply explored color theory. His works reflect his dry humor and his sometimes childlike perspective, his personal moods and beliefs, and his musicality.

Mondrian was a founder of neoplasticism. He evolved from naturalism and symbolism to abstraction. He liked geometric abstraction and he used the primary colors, considered by him as the elementary colors of the universe.

Since Edith Schaar was very young, nature has been her source of inspiration and marks her artistic work. Edith’s traveling spirit has led her to visit different cities and countries.
At the end of the eighties she settled in La Floresta, where she continues her intense creative work, full of color and life.

We work on The Scream artwork. The Scream is a composition created by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893. The agonized face in the painting has become one of the most iconic images of art, seen as symbolizing the anxiety of the human condition.

This term we learn about Picasso, a Spanish painter and one of the most influential artist of the 20th century. We have fun painting Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, Guernica, making a Picasso mask… We get inspired by Cubism and Surrealism.

Do you know that Yayoi Kusama is known as The princess of polka dots? She is an important Japanese artist. She started drawing pictures with dots at 10 years old. Her most important artworks are inspired in Pop Art and Feminist Art. This first term we learn about her life and artworks. And the most important thing is that we have fun learning and painting!
