Children in Year 5 finished their stained glass candle holders in the style of Gaudí this week. They have been learning about the Catalan architect during this term and they visited Park Güell and La Sagrada Família. There, they could observe lots of wonderful stained glass windows and some amazing mosaics. Back to school we learned about cool (blue, green and purple) and warm (red, yellowe and orange) colours and how Gaudí used them in La Sagrada Família. Children chose warm or cool colours to paint glass yoghurt pots with glass paint. Finally, they decorated the top of the pots with glitter. The designs are very creative.
