Last Wednesday, on the 8th of May, we celebrated the 1st English Day of Segrià ZERs in Sudanell. Students had a fun and sunny day with the different Year 4 students from different schools of Segrià. They had a great time throughout the day listening to the English language at different times and interacting with children from various schools: ZER La Coma, ZER l’Horta de Lleida, ZER l’Argelaga, ZER Alt Segrià, ZER l’Eral and ZER l’Oliver.
The English teachers from all these schools have been preparing this day throughout this school year in order to motivate the students and enjoy a day full of games, laughter and new experiences.
The topic of the day was OLYMPIC GAMES! We divided the students from all the schools into different groups and each group was an Olymplic athlete: Salma Paralluelo, Edurne Pasaban, Carolina Marín, Amaya Valdemoro, Mireia Belmonte, Almudena Cid, Ona Carbonell, Itzíar Martínez, Garbiñe Muguruuza and Ana Peleteiro.
Furthermore, each teacher represented an English-speaking country: New Zealand, United States, Australia, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, India, Kenya, Jamaica, United Kingdom and Nigeria.
In the morning, we played different sports games, and we learned different Scottish songs and dances with David Vivanco.
In the afternoon, they created their own Olympic torch during a gymkhana.
Finally, they received a fantastic MEDAL at the end of the day!
