DIALOGUES AND LECTURES IN ENGLISH

During last week three groups of students in grade 4 were given some online and presencial lectures in English.
On Tuesday 24th November students in class group 4t ESO C had the chance to listen to Jordi Caballé, an economist from Campredó who has been working in Tenerife in the last four years, in the Canary Islands, as director of TransMed Cruise company. He explained his current labour use of the English language in one of the most important cruise enterprises in the Mediterranean area.
On Wednesday 25th Sergi Curto, a 21-year-old Computer Science student at Catalonia Technical University, talked about his experiences at university to students in class group 4t ESO B. He explained carefully what this degree was like and encouraged them to take it in their future studies.
Finally, on Thursday 26 th Carme Camacho, a translator and interpreter from Amposta, gave a lecture on translation to students in class groups 4t ESO D. He talked about her stay in London where she got in touch with British theatre. She has just translated into Catalan ‘The life of Frederick Douglass, an American slave’, a 19th century classic book against slavery.
Our students enjoyed three very interesting lectures and had a dynamic dialogue with the lecturers. We should thank them for their kindness to take part in a very good activity for our pupils.
