This school year, for the very first time, a group of students and teachers from our school had the amazing opportunity to visit California, thanks to the Erasmus+ project!
The project focused on finding ways for Serrallarga students to do training and work placements in the United States. To make this possible, the group carried out a small research project with students at the University of California, Berkeley — one of the world’s leading public universities, known for its commitment to academic excellence and social activism.
During their stay, they also visited Stanford University, another prestigious institution at the heart of Silicon Valley, which is famous for its cutting-edge research and innovation.
The group not only got to experience the academic atmosphere of these two top universities but also had the chance to explore the city of San Francisco, learning firsthand about its unique mix of technological progress and major social challenges, such as homelessness and housing inequality.

It was an inspiring experience that opened our eyes to new opportunities — and to the realities that shape one of the most innovative regions in the world. This collaboration will continue in the coming years as an excellence project involving both students and teachers from our higher vocational training programmes.
