Ja hem arribat al final d’aquesta experiència que ens ha servit tant com a formació professional com de
relació i coneixement d’un entorn absolutament diferent al nostre.
Ha estat un gust compartir aquests dies amb el personal docent de les diferents escoles que ens han
obert les seves portes, i també amb els nostres formadors Maikki i Pietru.

We have now reached the end of this experience, which has been valuable both for our professional
training and for building relationships and gaining insight into an environment completely different from
our own.
It has been a pleasure to share these days with the teaching staff of the different schools that opened

Visitem l’escola Rajakylä Comprehensive School on imparteixen classes de Primària i Secundària obligatòria (de 7 a 16 anys). És una reconeguda escola amb metodologia STEAM.
Ens han explicat com apliquen la metodologia STEAM dins el seu centre, amb col·laboració la Universitat d’Oulu, l’acreditació en el programa Erasmus + (2023-2028) i el benestar dins l’escola.
També ens han explicat els passos a seguir per a fer un bon projecte STEAM
● Pensar un repte i fer que la gent entengui de què va, què és el que vols aconseguir.
● Pluja d’idees i solucions – Escollir les tres millors idees, presentar-les en petit grup,
parlar-ne i decidir una solució final.
● Fer el prototip utilitzant diferents materials.
● Construir, presentar i fer una reflexió del que s’ha fet
A la tarda ens han explicat el que és la gamificació i l’aprenentatge gamificat, aquest consisteix a incorporar els jocs a l’aula (digitals i de sobretaula) i, en alguns casos, poder-los dissenyar.
Després hem practicat el que ens havien ensenyat fent 3 projectes:
● Introducció a les microbits a través del programa makecode.
● Introducció a la IA a través de l’aplicació GenAI Techable Machine.
● Creació d’un vehicle amb peces tipus lego i fer un concurs per saber quin d’ells
arriba més lluny.
Friday 13th February 2026
We visited the Rajakylä Comprehensive School where they teach classes of Primary and Secondary (from 7 to 16 years old). It is a recognized school with STEAM methodology.
They have explained how they apply the STEAM methodology within their center, with collaboration from the University of Oulu, accreditation in the Erasmus + program (2023-2028) and well-being within the school.
They have also explained the steps to follow to make a good STEAM project
● Think of a challenge and make people understand what it is about, what you
want to achieve.
● Rain of ideas and solutions – Choose the three best ideas, present them in
small groups, talk about them and decide on a final solution.
● Make the prototype using different materials.
● Build, present and reflect on what has been done
In the afternoon we were told what gamification and gamified learning is. This consists of incorporating games into the classroom (digital and desktop) and, in some cases, being able to design them.
Then we practiced what we had been taught doing 3 projects:
● Introduction to microbes through the makecode program.
● Introduction to AI through the GenAI Teachable Machine application.
● Creation of a vehicle with lego type pieces and make a contest to know which
of them goes further.

Visita a la Hintta School i a la Hintta Daycare Centre Avui hem visitat la Hintta School, una escola de primària (de 1r a 6è) que destaca per la seva aposta per l’art, la metodologia STEAM, l’emprenedoria i una visió de
l’educació basada en la learning community, la participació de l’alumnat i la col·laboració.
Durant la visita, l’equip del centre ens ha presentat el seu programa educatiu, els objectius de l’escola i el seu currículum, posant en valor la gran flexibilitat de què disposa el professorat per desenvolupar-lo. Un dels pilars del centre és el TRUST (confiança), tant en els mestres com en l’alumnat, com a base del procés educatiu.
Hem pogut veure com integren la metodologia STEAM amb projectes d’emprenedoria real, com ara la creació de joies, on l’alumnat dissenya, produeix i ven productes reals a clients reals, desenvolupant competències creatives, socials i econòmiques.
Un altre aspecte destacable del centre és la importància que donen a la participació activa de l’alumnat, el treball col·laboratiu i la construcció d’una learning community, on mestres i alumnes aprenen conjuntament i comparteixen responsabilitats.
A més, també hem visitat la Hintta Daycare Centre, un centre d’educació infantil que ens ha sorprès especialment pel seu ampli horari d’atenció, de les 5 del matí fins a les 22.30 h, sempre que les famílies ho necessitin.
En aquest centre, els infants treballen des de ben petits amb una clara orientació STEAM, fomentant el problem solving, els crafts, l’ús de Bee-Bots i altres recursos educatius. L’aprenentatge es basa en explorar, dissenyar i desenvolupar les pròpies idees, aprenent a través de l’experiència directa (learning by doing), i entenent els errors com una part natural del procés d’aprenentatge.
La directora de la Hintta School ha compartit reflexions molt inspiradores, com ara: “It is not the teachers’ choices but the students’ rights” i “We should teach students how society works.”
Abans de marxar, hem pogut visitar les aules dels més petits, tancant una jornada
que ha estat especialment inspiradora.

Visit to Hintta School and Hintta Daycare Centre Today, we visited Hintta School, a primary school (from 1st to 6th grade) that stands out for its strong focus on art education, STEAM methodology,
entrepreneurship, and its vision of education as a learning community, strongly based on student participation and collaboration.
During the visit, the school staff presented their educational programme, the school’s goals, and their curriculum, highlighting the high level of flexibility teachers have when working within it. One of the school’s core values is TRUST, understood as the foundation of the teaching and learning process.
We had the opportunity to see how STEAM is combined with real entrepreneurship projects, such as jewellery design, where students create, produce, and sell real products to real customers, developing creative, social, and economic competences.
Another key strength of the school is the emphasis placed on student participation, collaboration, and the development of a strong learning community, where teachers and students learn together and share responsibilities.
We also visited the Hintta Daycare Centre, an early childhood education centre that particularly impressed us due to its extended opening hours, from 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., always adapting to families’ needs.
At this centre, children work with a clear STEAM approach from a very young age, focusing on problem solving, crafts, the use of Bee-Bots, and other educational resources. Learning is based on exploring, designing, and developing their own ideas, following a learning by doing approach, where mistakes are seen as a natural and valuable part of the learning process.
The principal of Hintta School shared some very inspiring reflections, such as:
“It is not the teachers’ choices but the students’ rights,” and “We should teach students how society works.”
Before leaving, we also had the chance to visit the classrooms of the youngest students, concluding a day that was truly inspiring.

Avui hem anat a visitar l’institut OSYK (Oulun Suomalaisen Yhteiskoulun Lukio) a la ciutat
d’Oulu. És un institut que fa molts anys que fa projectes STEAM (a la ciutat d’Oulu es va
començar a fer la xarxa de centres STEAM l’any 2018). Hi ha un total de 640 estudiants al
centre, 41 mestres, 3 orientadors i 1 mestre d’educació especial.
L’institut va ser fundat el 1902 i és la segona escola més antiga de la ciutat i pionera a ser
una escola mixta així com impartir els ensenyaments en finès, ja que al principi l’educació
es feia en rus o suec.
Els alumnes d’aquest centre tenen entre 16 i 19 anys i ells mateixos escullen el seu propi
itinerari durant la seva estança al centre. La llengua materna és obligatòria i després poden
escollir 3 assignatures de 5 que se’ls ofereixen. Per acabar els estudis han d’obtenir un
mínim de 150 punts i aquest s’aconsegueixen amb les assignatures i fent tasques o
projectes, moltes vegades fora de l’horari escolar.
L’institut té projectes internacionals amb Suècia, Alemanya, Països Baixos, Estats Units i
Rússia (tot i que ara no està activa a causa de la guerra). També formen part de la xarxa
internacional d’escoles UNESCO, fet que està estretament relacionat amb la seva visió
particular de l’educació: una educació holística, que fomenta la responsabilitat en els seus
alumnes, inclusiva i creativa. És per això que tenen un projecte propi d’art, dansa i teatre. A
part de finès, ofereixen anglès, alemany, suec, rus, espanyol i francès.
L’OSYK és un institut que no utilitza llibres tot i que els últims anys hi ha un debat de si cal
recuperar-los en algunes assignatures. El govern proveeix tot l’alumnat i docents amb
portàtil per a treballar i estudiar. Tanmateix, ens han explicat que al centre els és molt
complicat fer projectes STEAM perquè el currículum nacional i el propi de centre és molt
estricte i molt ampli i costa interrelacionar els diferents apartats. Molts dels projectes estan
relacionats amb el projecte d’art, teatre, o dansa.
Quatre alumnes de diferents cursos del centre ens han explicat un projecte que van dur a
terme recentment. Va consistir a realitzar unes decoracions de Nadal per les finestres, molt
típiques a Finlàndia, unes maquetes similars als nostres pessebres.
Les alumnes van haver de pensar el disseny de la decoració i dur-lo a terme construint els
decorats, muntant circuits elèctrics, programant LEDS amb Arduino i ajudant-se de la
impressora 3D per a fer algunes figuretes (majoritàriament pingüins).
Una mestra ens ha compartit un altre dels projectes que es fa cada curs. Un grup de
mestres i alumnes es desplaça a l’illa de Hailuoto (prop d’Oulu) i hi pernocten una o dues
nits. Com que són un centre especialitzat en arts plàstiques i escèniques, allà als alumnes
se’ls presenta un repte artístic que pot consistir a preparar marionetes gegants, fer
màscares i escultures o crear tòtems ii presentar-los.
El fet d’anar a l’institut i està en contacte amb mestres i alumnes ha estat una experiència
molt bona i enriquidora.

Today we went to visit the OSYK Institute (Oulun Suomalaisen Yhteiskoulun Lukio) in the
city of Oulu. It is an institute that has been carrying out STEAM projects for many years (in
the city of Oulu the STEAM network began to be made in 2018). There are a total of 640
students in the center, 41 teachers, 3 counselors and 1 special education teacher.
The institute was founded in 1902 and is the second oldest school in the city and pioneers in
being a mixed school as well as teaching in Finnish, since at first education was done in
Russian or Swedish.
The students of this center are between 16 and 19 years old and they choose their own
itinerary during their stay in the center. The mother tongue is mandatory and then you can
choose 3 subjects out of 5 that are offered to their. To finish the studies they must obtain a
minimum of 150 points and this is achieved with the subjects and doing tasks or projects,
often, outside school hours.
The institute has international projects with Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, the United
States and Russia (although it is now not active due to the war). They are also part of the
international network of UNESCO schools, which is closely related to their particular vision of
education: a holistic education, which fosters responsibility in their students, inclusive and
creative. That is why they have their own projects of art, dance and theater. Apart from
Finnish, they offer English, German, Swedish, Russian, Spanish and French.
OSYK is an institute that does not use books although in recent years there is a debate
about whether to recover them in some subjects. The government provides all students and
teachers with laptops to work and study. However, they have explained to us that it is very
difficult for them to carry out STEAM projects because the national curriculum and the
center's own is very strict and very wide and it is difficult to interrelate the different sections.
Many of the projects are related to the art, theatre, or dance project.
Four students from different courses of the center have told us about a project they recently
carried out. It consisted of making Christmas decorations for the windows, very typical in
Finland, models similar to our nativity scenes.
The students had to think about the design of the decoration and carry it out by building the
decorations, assembling electrical circuits, programming LEDS with Arduino and using the
3D printer to make some figurines (mostly penguins).
A teacher has shared another of the projects that is carried out each year. A group of
teachers and students travel to Hailuoto Island (near Oulu) and spend one or two nights
there. As they are a center specialized in visual and performing arts, there the students are
presented with an artistic challenge that can consist of preparing giant puppets, making
masks and sculptures or creating totems and presenting them.

Avui hem començat el dia continuant amb els grups de treball internacionals i acabant amb la creació del projecte d’una màquina o un edifici tenint en compte l’ODS escollit. En finalitzar la sessió matinal hem fet una posada en comú on cada grup ha exposat l’ODS escollit i ha mostrat la creació tot explicant el que s’havia fet i per què ho havia fet.
A la tarda hem anat a l’Oulun Taidemuseo (Museu d’Art d’Oulu) a enriquir-nos amb l’exposició “Voice of the Land” basada en la cultura SAMI, cultura que s’està extingint, perquè tenen unes normes i regles molt rígides, no deixen que ningú entri ni tampoc expliquen les seves tradicions, tot queda entre ells. Després hem anat a l’ajuntament on ens han explicat els passos a tenir en compte per a fer un projecte STEAM, hem tornat a fer grups internacionals i hem practicat allò que ens havien explicat, acabant amb una posada en comú explicant el projecte elaborat i la seva utilitat relacionada amb l’STEAM.

Today we have started the day by continuing with the international working groups and ending with the creation of the project of a machine or a building taking into account the chosen SDG. At the end of the morning session, we shared a discussion where each group presented the chosen SDG and showed the creation explaining what had been done and why it had been done.
In the afternoon we went to the Oulun Taidemuseo (Oulu Art Museum) to enrich ourselves with the exhibition “Voice of the Land” based on the SAMI culture, a culture that is becoming extinct, because they have very rigid rules, they do not let anyone enter or explain their traditions, everything remains among them. Then we went to the city hall where they explained the steps to take into account to make a STEAM project, we did international groups again and we practiced what they had explained to us, ending with a sharing explaining the project developed and its utility related to STEAM.
Dilluns 9 de febrer de 2026
La jornada de dilluns ha començat amb una presentació del sistema educatiu finlandès, on ens han explicat les seves principals característiques, els seus punts forts i la seva filosofia educativa. A continuació, hem fet una comparació amb els nostres sistemes educatius i amb els dels altres companys i companyes de formació, fet que ha generat un debat molt interessant i enriquidor.
Després del break, hem continuat aprofundint en la metodologia STEAM, coneixent-ne els principis bàsics, el rol del docent i el paper actiu de l’alumnat, sempre des de l’experiència de Finlàndia, país que va començar a implementar aquesta metodologia de manera sistemàtica l’any 2018.
A la part final del dia, hem format grups de treball internacionals, amb participants de diferents països, amb l’objectiu d’iniciar el disseny d’un projecte STEAM vinculat als Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible (ODS). En aquesta primera fase, hem pres dues decisions clau: si el projecte es basarà en la creació d’una màquina o d’un edifici, i quin ODS serà l’eix central del nostre treball.
Demà continuem avançant en aquest projecte i vivint una experiència que està sent, sens dubte, molt enriquidora i inspiradora.

The day started with a presentation on the Finnish education system, where its main characteristics, strengths, and educational philosophy were explained. This was followed by a comparison with our own
education systems and those of the other participants, which led to a very interesting and enriching discussion.
After the break, we continued to explore the STEAM methodology in greater depth, learning about its basic principles, the role of the teacher, and the active role of students, always from the perspective of Finland—a
country that began to systematically implement this methodology in 2018.
In the final part of the day, we formed international working groups with participants from different countries, with the aim of starting the design of a STEAM project linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In
this initial phase, we made two key decisions: whether the project would be based on the creation of a machine or a building, and which SDG would be the central focus of our work.
Tomorrow we will continue to move forward with this project and to enjoy an experience that is undoubtedly proving to be very enriching and inspiring.

Un grup de mestres del Vallès Oriental procedents de les escoles: Granullarius, Turó de
Can Gili, Joan Solans, Salvador Espriu, Pilar Mestres, Santa Agnès i Camins ens hem
desplaçat a Oulu (Finlàndia) per participar en una formació STEAM i també familiaritzar-nos
amb el sistema educatiu finès.
El diumenge a les 16:00h ens hem trobat a l’ajuntament de la ciutat per tal d’iniciar la nostra
formació juntament amb altres mestres procedents d’Alemanya, Portugal, Islàndia, França,
Turquia, Itàlia,…
Els nostres formadors són la Maikki i en Pietu, a qui volem donar les gràcies per la seva
dedicació.

A group of teachers from the Vallès Oriental, from the schools Granullarius, Turó de Can
Gili, Joan Solans, Salvador Espriu, Pilar Mestres, Santa Agnès and Camins, have travelled
to Oulu (Finland) to take part in a STEAM training course and to become familiar with the
Finnish education system.
On Sunday at 4:00 p.m., we met at the city hall to begin our training together with other
teachers from Germany, Portugal, Iceland, France, Turkey, Italy, among others.
Our trainers are Maikki and Pietu, whom we would like to thank for their dedication.
