Our first session of the “let’s get fit” topic , started with PILATES exercises for kids.
Children should be taking part in aerobic activities every day and the benefits of this are well documented: from improving overall health to helping with musculoskeletal and bone development, reducing the risk of diabetes and improving mental health and concentration.
Why Pilates for children?
- It’s a low-impact form of exercise that everyone can do at their own level
- It develops good habits for life – from posture to, healthy breathing, improved concentration and body position awareness
- Pilates can have an impact on concentration, helping children focus on other aspects of their life whether that’s in class or at home
- Pilates can improve core strength and help prevent injury – even for those who play a lot of sport already
Exercise is an important part of a child’s development and it’s key to find an activity that they can enjoy.
