SHERLOCK HOLMES

Last Thursday, pupils from Zer del Solsonès went to the library of Solsona, to see a theater play called “Sherlock Holmes”.

Here, there is a brief synopsis about the play:

Sherlock Holmes’ granddaughter read in the newspaper that the Crown Jewels had been stolen from the Tower of London, and that there were a reward of £50,000 for their recovery. Just as she was thinking about how she was going to find them, she received a letter and a clue. It was an opportunity not to be missed. She decided to follow the clue which took her on a journey around London. On the way she met a policeman, Policeman Plod, who was also looking for the Crown Jewels. Our pupils had to discover who had stolen the jewels of the Crown. During the play, our students enjoyed with Sherlock’s adventures around the capital of United Kingdom, and discover more about London’s famous people and places. From the London Eye to the underground, our students were asked to jump on board and solve the crime of the century!

As teachers, we think that theatre is a great way to learn. Going to the theatre teaches the society about people, places, and ideas to which we would not otherwise be exposed. Learning in a theatrical setting makes learning fun.
