Last Monday, December 11, the School’s Foreign Language Department organized a Ceilith workshop for Scottish dances for pupils from different ages and grades. Our students had the chance to enjoy some very typical folk dances from Scotland. It was a fun workshop, an interactive activity that included plenty of dancing, singing, stories from Scotland and a demonstration of the Highland bagpipe. The dancer, Tom Mackintosh, was wearing full Highland Dress (the kilt) and spoke through a radio mic. The event was held entirely in English. Thus, it was a funny way of practicing the language while gaining cultural awareness and developing cooperation and teamwork.
