Aquest matí, l’alumnat de 3r d’ESO ha participat en una activitat cultural en llengua anglesa conduïda per la Cristina, una jove nord-americana que ha visitat el nostre institut. L’activitat s’emmarca dins del programa Burlington Culture Class, que té com a objectiu fomentar l’aprenentatge de l’anglès a través del coneixement d’altres cultures i realitats del món.
La Cristina ha ofert tres xerrades sota els títols “All about New Zealand”, “All about India” i “All about South Africa”. A partir d’aquestes presentacions, els estudiants han pogut descobrir aspectes destacats de cada país, com ara les seves tradicions, la seva gastronomia, la geografia i algunes curiositats culturals.
Les sessions han estat participatives i dinàmiques. L’alumnat ha tingut l’oportunitat de participar responent preguntes, interactuant i practicar l’anglès en un context comunicatiu i real.
Ha estat una experiència molt enriquidora que ha contribuït a millorar la competència lingüística dels estudiants i a ampliar la seva visió del món des d’una perspectiva intercultural.
Burlington Cultural Talks in English
This morning, the 3rd-year ESO students took part in a cultural activity in English led by Cristina, a young American visitor to our school. The activity was part of the Burlington Culture Class programme, which aims to promote English learning through exposure to different cultures and world perspectives.
Cristina delivered three talks entitled “All about New Zealand”, “All about India”, and “All about South Africa”. Through these presentations, students learned about key aspects of each country, including their traditions, cuisine, geography, and various cultural curiosities.
The sessions were interactive and dynamic. Students had the opportunity to answer questions, share opinions, and practise their English in an engaging, communicative context.
It was a highly enriching experience that helped improve students’ language skills while broadening their understanding of the world from an intercultural point of view.
