Job shadowing Lisbon Schools (Betlem and Laia)
During our stay in Lisbon, we visited 3 schools:
- The visit to Sant Antonio school was very moving. The passion of their teachers was very clear and it was an example to follow for us. If they can do such an amazing project with their difficulties, we can do it too. Thanks to their empathy with their families and students, they can cover their needs better. For them, the most important thing is that students continue learning while feeling included in society.
- Cantinho dos Amigos it is the type of school we would like to become. It is very familiar, takes into account the student’s interest, and have a clear aim. We work though PBL projects and mix the students of their school. We really liked how they have the curriculum always present and manage to combine it with the students interests. Furthermore, we can tell that the teachers are very united, and one of the pillars of the school is teamwork and cohesion.
- Colégio Atlântico is a very special school. We really liked their facilities and their PBL projects that encourage entrepreneurship. Kids seem very happy and autonomous there. It was surprising to see the amount of hours they spent with screens in such early ages. In our opinion, we should be careful with those, because at home they continue using them. We liked the idea of always keep improving and rethinking education.
