Del 16 al 22 de juliol la professora Carme Florit ha completat el curs Greener Schools for a Sustainable Future a Reykjavik, Islàndia, gràcies a la subvenció econòmica rebuda per l’Acreditació Erasmus 2021-2027 de l’Institut Escola Santa Anna.

Un dels objectius del projecte Erasmus és treballar per projectes (project-based learning – PBL) amb la intenció d’aprofundir en els Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible (ODS) (en anglès, Sustainable Development Goals – SDG). Volem desenvolupar la consciència ecològica entre el nostre alumnat i augmentar el seu sentiment de pertinença a una ciutadania global.

El curs dut a terme a Reykjavik estava centrat en com treballar la sostenibilitat des de l’escola. S’han tractat molts dels temes que hi estan relacionats:

• les causes i les conseqüències de l’escalfament global
• l’escassetat de l’aigua potable i com evitar el seu malbaratament
• les fonts d’energia no renovables que augmenten l’escalfament de l’atmosfera i les fonts d’energia renovables que les han de substituir
• el desenvolupament de programes de reducció, reutilització i reciclatge
• la potenciació d’accions que permetin caminar cap a un entorn natural i urbà més sostenible
• la comparativa d’accions que es fan a centres que han obtingut el reconeixement d’escola verda arreu d’Europa
• la creació d’un pla d’acció de cada centre docent participant a curt i llarg termini

La professora Carme ha dissenyat un esborrany de pla d’acció per a presentar a l’equip docent i dur-lo a terme a partir del curs 23-24 amb un treball conjunt entre el professorat, l’alumnat i les famílies.

Aquest pla d’acció està fonamentat en tres eixos:

• l’augment de la consciència de reduir, reutilitzar i reciclar a la comunitat educativa i al centre
• l’inici d’un hort sostenible compartit amb l’AFA (menjador) i l’equip docent i alumnat
• la reducció de l’ús de paper o l’ús més acurat del paper

From July 16th to 22nd, teacher Carme Florit completed the course Greener Schools for a Sustainable Future in Reykjavik, Iceland, thanks to the financial support received through the 2021–2027 Erasmus Accreditation of Institut Escola Santa Anna.

One of the objectives of the Erasmus project is to work through project-based learning (PBL) with the aim of delving into the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We aim to develop ecological awareness among our students and to strengthen their sense of belonging to a global citizenship.

The course held in Reykjavik focused on how to address sustainability in schools. Many related topics were covered, including:

• the causes and consequences of global warming

• the scarcity of drinking water and how to prevent its waste

• non-renewable energy sources that contribute to atmospheric warming, and the renewable alternatives that should replace them

• the development of reduce, reuse, and recycle programs

• the promotion of actions leading to a more sustainable natural and urban environment

• a comparison of initiatives implemented in schools recognized as green schools across Europe

• the creation of a short- and long-term action plan for each participating school

Teacher Carme has drafted an action plan to present to the teaching team and to implement starting in the 2023–2024 school year, through a collaborative effort involving teachers, students, and families.

This action plan is based on three key pillars:

• increasing awareness of reducing, reusing, and recycling within the educational community and the school

• starting a sustainable garden in collaboration with the AFA (school canteen association), the teaching staff, and the students

• reducing paper use or encouraging more careful and efficient paper usage
