Hello! My name is Spenser, and I’ll be working at Escola Verd until the end of May as an English language teaching assistant. You can find me every week in 5th and 6th grade classes interacting with students in my native tongue, English. I aim to get students excited about English, to get them talking in English. I’ll facilitate activities in the classroom that not only encourage English conversation but make it enjoyable as well. In addition, I’ll introduce students to my culture—I’m from South Carolina in the United States of America. This will be my second year as a language assistant. Last year I worked in a small town outside of Leon. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work in Escola Verd. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and traveling.
