What’s your favourite breakfast? 

 

Last week, the first and second graders studied and learned what their favourite breakfast was.

How we did? 

  1. Through didactic proposals where they are the protagonist of their learning based on the communicative approach.
  2. Through play and movement with music.

First of all, we give them a brief introduction to the different meals of the day with the aim of getting one of them to say the word “breakfast”.

Once the word was identified, we started to explain the dynamics of the learning process. The aim, to learn the next question:

What’s your favourite breakfast? 

My favourite breakfast is…. 

Firstly, on the board.

Secondly, work in pairs to introduce question and answer in our daily English conversation practice:

Thirdly, we finished the class by dancing. When the music stops the teacher says two names and they ask each other the question they have learnt.

By learning this type of question, we hope that our children will be able to learn the questions we introduce each week in order to be able to hold a conversation in English and to be able to transfer the knowledge they learn at school to real life.
