Maths around the world

Hi 6th graders!

As I promised, here are the pictures and videos from the last project we did at school.

In this CLIL project, 6th grade students worked cooperatively in groups to discover how mathematics is present in different English-speaking countries. Each group chose one country from a list proposed by the teacher: Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia.

The students searched for guided information about mathematical aspects such as units of measurement, distances, money, prices and other numerical data related to their country. After collecting the information, each group created a poster with the most important facts and prepared an oral presentation to share their work with the rest of the class.

Through this project, students improved their English, learned about different cultures and used mathematics in real-life contexts.

I wish you all a great summer.

Enjoy your holidays!

Take care.
