My name is Anna Maria, I am 23 years old, and I come from the beautiful island of Rhodes, Greece. I recently graduated from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Patras, which means I can officially call myself a mathematician!
Mathematics has been my passion for as long as I can remember, but it was a truly inspiring teacher I had at 13 years old who made me fall in love with the subject. Since then, I have known that my purpose is to follow in her footsteps and become the kind of teacher who makes a real impact on students’ lives.
During my studies, I had the incredible experience of participating in Erasmus in Italy, which sparked my curiosity about different cultures and educational systems. That’s why, as a recent graduate, I was eager to take on another international experience—this time through an internship. This opportunity is the perfect way for me to start putting my knowledge into practice while gaining valuable insight into teaching methods.
I believe that teaching is not just about passing on knowledge but also about inspiring and guiding students. That’s why I am excited not only to learn from experienced educators but also to actively contribute to the learning process myself. I want to help students develop their mathematical thinking, grow their confidence, and see the beauty of the subject the way I do.
In the future, I plan to further my studies in education, so I’m eager to see firsthand how teaching works in a different country. I look forward to exchanging ideas, embracing new challenges, and immersing myself in this experience. I can’t wait to get started!
