Billy is an innocent, romantic musician. His wife, Kate, on the other hand, thinks he is lazy. Kate is tired of being poor, and insists that Billy leaves the house to earn some money. With the help of his banjo, the audience and a mysterious bandit, Billy tries to make $1000 and win back his beloved Kate.

Billy és un músic romàntic i innocent. La seva dona, Kate, en canvi, creu que és mandrós. La Kate està cansada de ser pobre i insisteix que en Billy surti de casa per guanyar diners. Amb l’ajuda del seu banjo, el públic i un misteriós bandoler, Billy intenta guanyar 1000 dòlars i recuperar la seva estimada Kate.
