AESOP’S FABLES (INMERSIÓN LINGÜÍSTICA)

From the 11th to the 17th May Y6 students from ZER L’Oliver went to Robledo de Fenar (León) to carry out our 3rd language Immersion Project. This year, it’s about AESOP’S FABLES. Previously, at school, students had read different fables selected by their teachers. They’ve learned these fables are stories where, normally, animals are the characters and in the end, there’s a moral value.

After a long trip by bus, we arrived at GMR Camps, where the English monitors welcomed us with a Zumba session. Students of our schools were divided into groups and settled in their cabins for the whole week.

During this week, our students had the opportunity to meet students from the school “Salesianos San Juan Bosco” in Morón de la Frontera (Sevilla). Children use the English language in order to communicate in a new environment. They are away from home, enjoying their time with their classmates, students from other schools, their monitors and their teachers. They’ve shared English lessons with native teachers, Zumba sessions, free time and night activities. On Wednesday they visited León and on Friday, a shelter in the mountains, near the camp.

It’s not just about improving their English but also, with this experience, they develop social and personal skills which will help them in their life as they grow up.

We had an amazing time! We have met students and teachers from other places, and this allows us to discover sociocultural aspects of our own country.

Here you have this video where you can see a small part of this great adventure! Enjoy it!

  1. Va ser una experiència inolvidable i molt divertida, ja que vam fer molts amics de Sevilla i les activitats eren molt xules. M’agradaria repetir.
