General Information (Erasmus+ FP (VET))

Overall Strategy 2021-2027

The Institut Baix Empordà in Palafrugell is committed to the modernisation and internationalisation of its educational provision by actively participating in mobility activities within the Erasmus Programme.

Through this involvement, the institution aims to enhance the quality of its vocational education and training, strengthen students’ linguistic and intercultural competences, and promote mobility as a key factor in improving employability.

The institute offers students the opportunity to undertake traineeships in Europe, with full academic recognition of successfully completed mobility activities. These traineeships are recognised through the award of ECTS credits, considered equivalent to the Spanish compulsory work-based learning module, Módulo de Formación en Centros de Trabajo (FCT).

The institution fully upholds the principles of non-discrimination established by the Programme, ensuring equal access and equal opportunities for all participants, regardless of their background.

Partner institutions and host companies are selected in other European countries based on their ability to offer innovative and complementary learning experiences that differ from those available in the local context.

The institute aims to:

  • Reinforce the quality of its training programmes by promoting the mobility and cooperation of students and academic staff.
  • Enhance the professional skills and employability of its graduates.
  • Strengthen the social recognition of vocational education and training.
  • Improve the organisation and funding of mobility activities.
  • Carry out ongoing monitoring and periodic evaluation of the process in order to introduce corrective measures when necessary.

Partner institutions are identified through

  • Contacts established by teachers involved in the international programmes team.
  • Requests received from foreign schools wishing to visit the centre; these proposals are assessed and, if considered to be in the school’s best interest, the school community is informed in order to prepare the visit.
  • Contact with schools of similar characteristics to explore their interest in exchange programmes.
  • Collaboration with partner institutions and companies with which the school has previously participated in mobility or exchange projects.
  • Agreements and frameworks established by the Catalan Government (Department of Education of Catalonia).

Geographical areas

  • Germany: A country with a strong demand for qualified technicians and an especially attractive destination for a wide range of technical specialisations.
  • Greece: Initial contacts are currently being established in order to promote exchange opportunities related to the Kitchen Management short-cycle programme.
  • France: Institutional agreements with the Catalan Government facilitate partnerships with French organisations, particularly in the regions of Languedoc-Roussillon, Lyon and Rhône-Alpes.

Target groups

  • Students.
  • The mobility programme is aimed specifically at VET students who are interested in undertaking a traineeship abroad.
