On the 7th of February of 2017, some students -first and second of ESO- at Badia i Margarit High School, took the Fonix semifinal exam. And for those who don’t know what FONIX is… it is an English competition where you do the semifinal at your school (this is optional but Judit is very Judit and she made us do it!), and the winner goes to Barcelona to do the final exam there. The exam wasn’t really hard, but the students were so nervous, because all of them wanted to win, that is, to be the best.
This school-year, the winners at school were us two: Milena from first of ESO, and Imane from second of ESO. We both did great at the semifinal and got 48’5 points out of 50.
On the 25th of February we went to Barcelona together for the first final, that took place at the National Institute of Physical Education. The place was really big, and there were a lot of participants. The exams started at 12:00 am, and finished at 12:50am.
The experience was really good and exciting, although we were a bit nervous.
If one day you have the chance to do it, we really recommend it to you, because you learn new things, and it prepares you for the next harder exams that you will have to do in the future.
We want to thank our teachers that give us the opportunity to participate, and we also want to thank our mums for being taxi-drivers and our big supporters!
We are waiting for the results and getting ready for The Big Challenge, an English contest that everybody has to take at Badia i Margarit!!

El dia 7 de febrer del 2017, alguns alumnes de primer i segon d’ESO de l’institut Badia i Margarit vam fer la semifinal de la prova de The Fonix, que és un concurs en el qual passes per una prova d’anglès i un representat per cada nivell i centre va a fer la final a Barcelona. La prova no era molt difícil però tots estàvem molt nerviosos perquè tots volíem anar a la final. La fase local, la de centre, no és obligatòria fer-la, però la Judit ens la fa fer perquè així ens entrenem per la vida dura d’estudiants.
Aquest any les classificades hem estat nosaltres dues: la Milena de primer d’ESO i la Imane de segon i a la fase de centre vam aconseguir molt bons resultats: 48 punts i mig, de 50 possibles.
El dissabte 25 de febrer, vam anar a Barcelona a fer la final territorial. La prova es va realitzar a l’ Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya. Era un lloc molt gran, i hi havia molts participants. És el que més ens va sobtar i vam veure que la Judit tenia raó! Els exàmens van començar a les 12:00 del migdia, i van a les 12:50h.
L’experiència ha estat molt positiva i diferent però hem passat una mica de nervis.
Si algun dia teniu l’oportunitat d’anar-hi, us ho recomanem perquè a banda d’anglès, aprens moltes coses diferents, et fa estar atent a no descuidar-te els documents, i també et prepara per les proves més difícils que hauràs fer en el futur.
Volem donar les gràcies als professors per fer-nos participar i animar-nos i ajudar-nos tant; i a les nostres mares que ens van fer de taxistes i són les nostres màximes fans!
Estem esperant els resultats i ja estem posats de ple en preparar The Big Challenge, un altre concurs d’anglès, tot i que força diferent al Fonix, i que a l’institut Badia i Margarit fa tothom!
