Hi, famílies!!!
This 1st term the 2nd graders have been remembering vocabulary and concepts about the school: objects (pencil, pen, felt-tip, colours, crayons, ruler, rubber, scissors, sharpener, blackboard, computer, paper, book…), places (classroom, playground, stairs, toilet, library, gym…) and rules (tidy up, work in silence, speak in english, respect the material…).
The last sessions we are learning how to make short sentences with this vocabulary: The blackboard is big, The glue is red, Scissors are green… My favourite place of my school is the library/playground…
We´ve enjoyed a lot practising with the alphabet!!
During the first term, 2nd graders have been remembering vocabulary and concepts about 2D shapes during the Geometry sessions:
The first weeks we´ve remembered the 2d shapes: circle, square, rectangles, triangle and diamond, and also their main characteristics: sides and vertices.
We have practised different oral structures to talk about shapes:
– This is a circle/square/…
– The circle has got 3 sides / The square has got 4 vertices….
In fact, they are becoming in little experts about this theme, you only need to enjoy with their progresses and creations with tangrams and rulers, naming 2D figures:
