The last 29th of April, the school celebrated the second English morning of this school year.
In that occasion, we also separated all the Primary children in cycles. Once joined in the first, second and third cycle, we mix the kids up to make two groups of about eleven students.
The event consisted on doing six different activities in turns. Each activity lasted twenty minutes.
The variety of tasks were:
Crossing the river.
Missing words.
Scrabble.
A Traditional English game.
Simon says.
Moving songs.
In “Crossing the river”, we practiced two linguistic structures:
Farmer, farmer, may we cross the golden river? and Not unless you…
This is a game where the farmer that stands in the middle of the court, let the rest of the players crossing the river if they do a concreted action.
When crossing, if the players are caught or touched by the farmer, they became farmers for the next go.
In “Missing words” the teacher read sentences or texts with some missing words in them. The players had to guess the words and represent them with their bodies on the floor.
In “Scrabble” the students had to make as many words as possible with the cards of the alphabet.
“A traditional English game” was a kind of memory where the pupils could see some similar objects with the difference of color, size, shape… and then, the teacher took out one or more objects. The students had to guess the missing objects.
“Simon says” is another typical English game that consist on giving some instructions that children have to do.
Finally, in “Moving songs”, the kids were dancing and singing when watching some moving songs videos.
El passat dia 29 d’abril, l’escola va celebrar el segon matí d’activitats en anglès.
En aquesta ocasió també vam separar tots els nens de primària per cicles. Vam barrejar-los per cicles I els vam dividir en dos grups d’onze alumnes aproximadament.
L’esdeveniment va consistir en fer sis activitats diferents per torn. Cada activitat durava vint minuts.
La relació d’activitats va ser:
Travessar el riu.
Paraules perdudes.
Construcció de paraules.
Joc tradicional anglès.
El Simó diu.
Cançons I moviment.
A “travessar el riu”, vam practicar dues estructures lingüístiques.
Similar a “l’aranya peluda”, en català però amb la variació d’haver de demanar I rebre el permís per a fer-ho.
En el joc de “la paraula perduda”, el mestre llegia unes frases o petits textos on hi faltaven paraules soltes. Els jugadors havien d’endevinar-les I representar-les amb el cos sobre el terra.
En l’Scrabble havien de confegir paraules amb lletres de cartró de l’abecedari.
El joc d’anglès tradicional era un tipus de memory. Els alumnes veien uns quants objectes similars amb diferències de color, forma, mida i llavors el mestre en treia un o més i els alumnes havien d’endevinar els que faltaven.
“Simon says” és un altre joc típic anglès que consisteix en anar donant instruccions que els nens i nenes han de fer.
Finalment, en l’ espai de “moving songs”, calia ballar i cantar imitant els moviments de les cançons dels vídeos.
