WELCOME TO OUR HEALTHY PARTY!

LET’S HAVE A PARTY!

Eating healthier is an issue that we find very important. We used to believe that eating healthier and tasting delicious were opposites. However, as the Global Scholars year went by, we understood that it is possible to cook healthy food that also tastes delicious!

Since there is another school (part of the Global Scholars project as well) not far away from ours, we decided that it would be a great idea to prepare a healthy party for them. We could invite them over and offer them some easy-to-make healthy treats. And so we did!

MARACOOKIE, OUR VERY OWN COOKIE

First of all, we thought of the healthier cookie we could make. The ingredients had to be easy to find, healthy and… delicious! After some brainstorming, we found our recipe. There was only one thing missing, its name! A cookie without a name is not a cookie. Since our school’s name is Joan Maragall, we thought that it would be cool to mix it all. So, after some voting we chose our cookie’s name: MARACOOKIE (click here to download the recipe).

JUICY JUICES

Eating cookies and not drinking anything? Impossible! We had to prepare some juicy drinks for our guests in order to show them that there is a whole world of tasty options beyond sodas and sugary drinks out there. Luckily for us, we live in a place where fresh fruit and vegetables grow easily. Therefore, we could find many kinds of fruit: bananas, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, oranges… Some of our juices also included soy milk and fresh mint.

A HEALTHY AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT

It was not raining! After a few days of thick rain, we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate our party outdoors. We had it all ready: a chill out area, music playing, fresh baked cookies (thanks to our cook at our school’s canteen who let us use the oven) and fresh fruit to make the juices.

Our guests arrived and the party started! We let them taste our MARACOOKIES and showed them how to make fresh juices. We also explained to them our Maracookies recipe, and we even read out loud our thoughts upon the Global Scholars project: what we had learnt, created, discovered…

It was an amazing event… and we made new friends!
