In October in the 1st of ESO we made soap like they did in the 1950s.
We used recycled oil, water, soda crystals to make the soap, and we added lavender oil and dye to make it smell and look nice. We wore safety equipment to protect ourselves from chemical reactions. To make the soap, we measured the water (135 ml) and put it in a bowl. Then we weighed 55g of soda crystals and added them to the bowl. We whisked the mixture until the crystals dissolved. Next we added the filtered oil (400 ml) and mixed until it emulsified. To make it smell and look nice we added lavender oil and dye, before putting the mixture into moulds. We decorated the soap with lavender and glitter. We had to wait two weeks before using the soap.
