DANCING “LA SARDANA” THANKS TO MARAGDA DEL PENEDÈS

Last Friday, 25th March, pupils in the Third Cycle had the great chance to participate in a dancing workshop where a group of “sardanistes” ,well-known as Maragda del Penedès, came to teach us how to learn “la sardana”, the typical dance in Catalonia.

They made the great effort to explain us in English the structure of this typical dance as “La Sardana” is and its main steps. We could practice the short and long steps and the gallop. We also could dance, not only one of the typical “sardanes”, but also “La Sardana Curta” which represents the origin of our traditional dance.

We had a rewarding experience, but above all, we spent a lovely and enjoyable afternoon dancing, because, as you all know, culture always keeps us connected and traditions always strengthen!

As you can see, pupils also were dressed up using our traditional clothing: the Catalan hat, the sash and the pair of espadrilles; clothes that honour our ancestor landsmen. We all looked so cool!

This is the last official activity within the International eTwinning Project “Cultural Exchange”, but this is not the end of it. Next Friday, 1st April, we will have another chance to go on growing as a Sardana Group. Maragda del Penedès will come back to make us enjoy dancing a bit more. THANKS A BUNCH FOR YOUR STRONG IMPLICATION AND CLOSE COLLABORATION! We are willing to reencounter with you again.

MOLTÍSSIMES GRÀCIES PER LA VOSTRA IMPLICACIÓ I ESTRETA COL·LABORACIÓ! Estem impacients per tornar-nos a retrobar.

Obviously, pretty soon you will be able to watch and enjoy with several videos as the evidences of having learned how to dance la sardana. However, you will have to wait for a while.
