DAVID AGUILAR’S ARM
Carla asks us which part of the body David Aguilar has built with Lego. We tell her it’s the ‘braç’, but she acts as if she doesn’t understand us. The students who know it, say it in English, but we realise that not all of us know how to say arm in English.
Some students start to say parts of the body in English and Carla quickly draws a girl on the whiteboard and starts to write the parts they say. We wonder how to say other parts we don’t know. Valentina suggests looking them up in the dictionary, so we start looking them up in groups. When we find them, we Write them down on the whiteboard.
To remember all the parts, Izaro comments that we could draw ourselves and mark them on our body and Jan complements the idea by suggesting to take photos and print them to write the parts on our own body and not on a drawing. We decide to take full body photos and print them out.
We ask Carla to project the photograph she took of the drawing on the whiteboard with the parts of the body written on it, but she suggests us to remember and try to write it down. We work in groups so that we can comment on it. Once each group thinks they have all the parts they remember, we decide to make an improvement by consulting the drawing from the previous session.
Carla teaches us a song that mentions the parts of the body that we have worked on. We sing and dance it all together.
