Last Friday, on the 17th of April, we celebrated the 2nd English Day of Segri\u00e0 ZERs<\/strong> in Sudanell. This year, Year 3 students took part in this activity. Although they were one year younger, they adapcted perfectly to the activities organised. They had a great time and enjoyed a sunny day alongside other schools from the Segri\u00e0 region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the day, they practiced English thanks to the different English teachers and interacted with students from the following schools: ZER La Coma, ZER l’Horta de Lleida, ZER l’Argelaga, ZER Alt Segri\u00e0, ZER l’Eral, ZER Ponent and ZER l’Oliver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main aim of this English Day is to to provide students from different rural schools with the opportunity to enjoy a shared experience in an English-speaking environment. As teachers, our goal is to work cooperatively and create a common space for all participants. We have been preparing this day since the beginning of this school year in order to motivate and engage students to use English during the different games and activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic of the day was English Day: Language and Culture<\/strong>. We divided the students from all the schools into 10 groups, and each group represented an English-speaking country: New Zealand<\/strong>, Australia<\/strong>, Canada<\/strong>, Kenya<\/strong>, the UK<\/strong>, the USA <\/strong>, Ireland<\/strong>, South Africa<\/strong>, Jamaica <\/strong>and India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning, we played some Ice Breaker Games<\/strong> (spiderweb and the shooter), different sports games <\/strong>(bodywords, running dictation, hoop race, handkerchief and mime, spell, draw; and practiced some Irish dances<\/strong> with Max Thiemann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch, they had free time to interact and get to know students from other schools better. Finally, we repeated the Irish dance and gave them a medal <\/strong>to finish the day on a positive mood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a fantastic day where English and social interaction played a key role. We are very proud <\/strong>of the result!!!!! \ud83c\udf0d\u2728<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Divendres passat, dia 17 d’abril, vam celebrar el 2n English Day de les ZERs <\/strong>del Segri\u00e0 a Sudanell. Aquest any hi van participar els alumnes de 3r. Tot i ser un any m\u00e9s petits, es van adaptar perfectament a les activitats organitzades. S\u2019ho van passar molt b\u00e9 i van gaudir d\u2019un dia assolellat amb altres escoles de la comarca del Segri\u00e0.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al llarg del dia, van practicar angl\u00e8s gr\u00e0cies als diferents mestres d\u2019angl\u00e8s i van interactuar amb alumnes de les seg\u00fcents escoles: ZER La Coma, ZER l\u2019Horta de Lleida, ZER l\u2019Argelaga, ZER Alt Segri\u00e0, ZER l\u2019Eral, ZER Ponent i ZER l\u2019Oliver.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019objectiu principal d\u2019aquesta English Day \u00e9s oferir als alumnes de diferents escoles rurals l\u2019oportunitat de gaudir d\u2019una experi\u00e8ncia compartida en un entorn d\u2019angl\u00e8s. Com a mestres, el nostre objectiu \u00e9s treballar de manera cooperativa i crear un espai com\u00fa per a tots els participants. Hem estat preparant aquest dia des de l\u2019inici del curs escolar per tal de motivar i implicar els alumnes a utilitzar l\u2019angl\u00e8s durant els diferents jocs i activitats.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La tem\u00e0tica del dia va ser English Day: Llengua i Cultura<\/strong>. Vam dividir els alumnes de totes les escoles en 10 grups, i cada grup representava un pa\u00eds de parla anglesa: Nova Zelanda, Austr\u00e0lia, Canad\u00e0, Kenya , el Regne Unit, els Estats Units , Irlanda, Sud-\u00e0frica , Jamaica i l\u2019\u00cdndia.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al mat\u00ed, vam realitzar diversos jocs de presentaci\u00f3<\/strong> (la teranyinar i el pistoler), diferents jocs <\/strong>esportius (fer el nom dels esports amb el cos, c\u00f3rrer per agafar la paraula correcta, saltar als c\u00e9rcols per escriure b\u00e9 la paraula, el mocador i m\u00edmica, lletrejar i dibuixar); i vam practicar algunes danses irlandeses<\/strong> amb en Max Thiemann.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despr\u00e9s de dinar, van tenir temps lliure per interactuar i con\u00e8ixer millor l’alumnat d\u2019altres escoles. Finalment, vam repetir la dansa irlandesa i els vam donar una medalla <\/strong>per acabar el dia amb un ambient positiu.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Va ser un dia fant\u00e0stic en qu\u00e8 l\u2019angl\u00e8s i la interacci\u00f3 social van tenir un paper clau. Estem molt satisfets <\/strong>amb el resultat!!!!! \ud83c\udf0d\u2728<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
