Les arpilleres es van iniciar a Xile en el temps de la dictadura, quan les \u00e0vies i mares d\u2019aquest pa\u00eds brodaven per expressar la seva tristesa i per manifestar-se en contra de la dictadura. \u00c9s una oportunitat per teixir la hist\u00f2ria de cadasc\u00fa, de fer un treball d&#8217;instrospecci\u00f3, deixant-se sentir i mentre teixeixen, entre fils, robetes i llanes, expressen les seves viv\u00e8ncies. Abans de treballar les arpilleres han fet un treball previ a partir d&#8217;exercicis de relaxaci\u00f3, de records d&#8217;experi\u00e8ncies viscudes,&#8230;.tot aix\u00f2 per connectar millor amb l&#8217;activitat. Despr\u00e9s han fet un esb\u00f2s en un full en blanc del dibuix que representava un dels moments importants de la seva vida. I finalment, on ara es troben, han buscat robetes, fils, botons, llanes, teixits,&#8230;.a casa per comen\u00e7ar a teixir la seva arpillera.
