\u201cMore people have died taking a selfie than from shark attacks ?!”, a student asks when reading the news article published at the\u00a0Mashable\u00a0<\/em>site.<\/p>\n

At the Social Sciences in English subject, our 10th<\/sup>\u00a0graders work cooperatively on 6 news stories published on real English-speaking media.<\/p>\n

Some of thesenews articles are completely true, others are based on certain but decontextualized facts, others use statistical data commissioned by cosmetic companies, and others are created directly to persuade, sell or deceive.<\/p>\n

Finally, students present the final results and fact-check the news articles with sites such as Snopes.com and FactCheck.org. And slowly but surely, they are fostering the essential democratic habit of assessing the credibility of information that floods our smartphones, tablets, computers and media outlets.<\/p>\n

A l’assignatura de Ci\u00e8ncies Socials en angl\u00e8s, els nostres alumnes de 3r d\u2019ESO treballen de manera cooperativa en 6 not\u00edcies publicades en mitjans reals de parla anglesa.<\/p>\n

Algunes d’aquestes not\u00edcies s\u00f3n completament certes, d’altres es basen en fets certs per\u00f2 descontextualitzats, d’altres utilitzen dades estad\u00edstiques finan\u00e7ades per empreses de cosm\u00e8tics, i d’altres es creen directament per persuadir, vendre o enganyar.<\/p>\n

Finalment, els estudiants presenten els resultats finals i comproven els articles de not\u00edcies en portals a internet com Snopes.com<\/a><\/em> i FactCheck.org<\/a><\/em>. I a poc a poc, els alumnes fomenten l’h\u00e0bit essencial i democr\u00e0tic d’avaluar la credibilitat de la informaci\u00f3 que inunda els nostres tel\u00e8fons m\u00f2bils, tauletes, ordinadors i mitjans de comunicaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n
