A m\u00e9s, ens ha mostrat fotografies hist\u00f2riques del cremallera de l&#8217;\u00e8poca que, l&#8217;octubre passat\u00a0va commemorar el 125\u00e8 aniversari del primer trajecte fins a Montserrat. La xerrada ha estat molt interessant i hem apr\u00e8s moltes coses. Des de l&#8217;institut volem agra\u00efr la seva col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Els principals motius de la construcci\u00f3 del cremallera eren la<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0falta d\u2019un mitj\u00e0 de comunicaci\u00f3 permanent per als devots i pelegrins i l\u2019augment del nombre de visitants a la muntanya i, que van portar a l\u2019enginyer Joaquim Carrera, un enamorat de Montserrat i dels trens de muntanya su\u00efssos, a conv\u00e8ncer l\u2019empresari Josep M. Gonz\u00e1lez que calia fer un cremallera que un\u00eds l\u2019estaci\u00f3 de Monistrol i el monestir. Aix\u00ed, l\u2019any 1881 es constitu\u00efa la companyia Ferrocarriles de Monta\u00f1a a Grandes Pendientes. El cremallera es va inaugurar el 6 d\u2019octubre de 1892 i en poc temps es va convertir en el ferrocarril m\u00e9s popular de Catalunya. La primera meitat de la vida del ferrocarril cremallera va estar marcada per constants ampliacions, fins que el 1931 la companyia va patir una primera crisi financera que va afectar la l\u00ednia.
