L’INSTITUT VOLTRERA va n\u00e9ixer a Abrera l’any 1992 als terrenys ocupats actualment per l’Escola Ernest Lluch, com a extensi\u00f3 de l’INSTITUT EL XIPRERET d’Igualada, actualment INSTITUT JOAN MERCADER.<\/p>\n

L’any 1995 es va inagurar l’actual edifici al Passeig de l’Estaci\u00f3. Des d’aleshores es va convertir en Institut d’Ensenyament Secundari.<\/p>\n

L’any 2016 s’obre una segona seu al carrer Antoni Gaud\u00ed per acollir tots els grups de 1r d’ESO.<\/p>\n

Actualment es tracta d’un centre de cinc l\u00ednies d’ESO, i tres de Batxillerat que acull b\u00e0sicament els alumnes de la mateixa localitat.<\/p>\n
