\"\"<\/a>This year, a conversation assistant is helping our students to express themselves in English. His name is Ruairidh Macleod, and he comes from Scotland. Two 4th ESO students, Vinyet and Jesica have done this interview, so students, parents and teachers will know him.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s know a little about him.<\/p>\n

Do you like our high school?<\/strong>
\nYeah I really like it, the students are being very nice and welcoming and the teachers are all being helpful and I haven\u2019t got any experience of teaching before.\u00a0I really like the school.<\/p>\n

What are you studying?<\/strong>
\nI\u2019m graduated from university, back in Scotland I studied law.<\/p>\n

Have the teachers explained to you how we work here? I mean the projects.<\/strong>
\nNo, they haven\u2019t but they\u2019ve told me the topics you are learning in class and the tenses you\u2019re practising and things…Maybe in the future I\u2019ll be more involved in the classroom.<\/p>\n

How is Spain different from Scotland?<\/strong>
\nWell, the city I came from Scotland is much bigger than Granollers, and my school in Scotland everyone wears uniform and it starts at 09:00 and finishes and 15:30 so 08:00 feels very early to me.
\nThe meal time\u2019s are completely different, so we have breakfast at 08:00 and lunch at 12:00 or 13:00 and then dinner at 17:00\/18:00, so at this time everyday here I become very hungry and we don\u2019t have dinner until 20:00\u2026
\nMy first night here we had dinner at 22:30 and I thought it was crazy!!<\/p>\n

Can you explain us a little bit about yourself? Like.. How do you think you are?<\/strong>
\nYeah, I would say I\u2019m friendly, my friends all say I\u2019m very loud, and I like socializing, spending time with friends\u2026
\nI\u2019ve met others conversation assistants near here, I like to see them at the weekend in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

We want to ask about family, do you have any brothers or sisters?<\/strong>
\nYeah, I\u2019ve got one brother and two sisters, they\u2019re all older than me, so I\u2019m the baby.<\/p>\n

Why did you choose Spain?<\/strong>
\nI wanted to come to Spain because I\u2019ve always enjoyed my time here and it\u2019s more relax than back home, and the food is very good.<\/p>\n

Do you like Spain? Can you tell us the first impresion?<\/strong>
\nYes, I\u2019ve been here twice before and the people all are very nice.<\/p>\n

Did you visit something in Barcelona<\/strong>?
\nI was in the \u201cBarri g\u00f2tic\u201d, and I saw the Cathedral, also the \u201cEixample\u201d,I saw a gothic building with the waves, and I went to a \u201ctapas\u201d place where it was very cheap, 100 montaditos. It has a very cheap beer.
\nOh! And another difference between Scotland to Spain, is that in McDonald\u2019s here they serve beer, and in Scotland they don\u2019t, and it\u2019s very strange, I was very surprised.<\/p>\n

Have you learn something in Spanish or Catalan?<\/strong>
\nYeah, I\u2019ve been picking up lots of words but people mainly want to speak English to me, but I hope at the end I\u2019ll know a lot of Spanish and Catalan because it will be really good skills to have.<\/p>\n

\nOf course!<\/p>\n

Do you have a favourite film?<\/strong>
\nMy fav film is \u201cThe Lord of the rings\u201d and last week I watched \u201cGirls trip\u201d, an American film that it was really really funny, I mainly watch TV shows too.
\nOn netflix I watch \u201cMad men\u201d and \u201cPrison break\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite artist?<\/strong>
\nI like U2, Rihanna, and a band called \u201cEverything everything\u201d, they\u2019re from the UK.<\/p>\n

Are you reading any book at the moment?<\/strong>
\nYes, right now I\u2019m reading \u201c100 years of solitude\u201d it\u2019s a book in Spanish but I\u2019m reading it in English.<\/p>\n

And.. What\u2019s your favourite food?<\/strong>
\nI like the \u201cSunday roast\u201d which is, every Sunday in Britain all the family comes together and has a roast chicken or roast beef, so yeah, I miss that a little bit.
\nI love paella, this is one of the reasons i came here, and I love milkshakes, I always create milkshakes.<\/p>\n
