Despr\u00e9s de la caiguda de l&#8217;Imperi Rom\u00e0, com ja sabeu, a la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e8rica es va establir el regne visigot. \u00a0En el \u00a0711 el ex\u00e8rcits musulmans van derrotar als visigots i en poc temps van conquerir la pen\u00ednsula i les illes Balears. S&#8217;obre aix\u00ed un nou per\u00edode on la cultura cristiana, la jueva i la musulmana compartiran el territori hisp\u00e0nic. Entre el 711 i el 1492 coexistiran dos grans espais: el domini cristi\u00e0 al nord i el domini musulm\u00e0 al sud. L&#8217;extensi\u00f3 de tots dos anir\u00e0 variant al llarg d&#8217;aquests segles.
