Situat a la UPC, \u00e9s un centre amb ordinadors d&#8217;una pot\u00e8ncia extraordin\u00e0ria que s&#8217;utilitzen<br \/>\nper recopilar i tractar dades per investigacions a escala nacional i internacional; la instituci\u00f3 compta amb<br \/>\n800 treballadors, la majoria investigadors. Actualment, engloba m\u00e9s de 150 projectes, com el de simulacions de prote\u00efnes per \u00fas en medicina o el projecte Gaia, que reconstrueix l\u2019univers per estudiar el fenomen de les supernoves.<br \/>\nAl SCB es troba el MareNostrum, un dels ordinadors m\u00e9s potents d&#8217;Europa, del qual han hagut 4 versions, essent el primer del 2004. L&#8217;actual va ser instal\u00b7lat a finals de juny del 2017 \u2013 curiosament dins una antiga esgl\u00e9sia &#8211; t\u00e9 un rendiment m\u00e0xim de 13&#8217;9 petaflops.<br \/>\nDespr\u00e9s de la visita guiada vam anar al Campus Nord de la UPC, ens hem dividit en grups de treball per aprofundir-nos sobre 6 dels projectes del SCB, que us explicarem pr\u00f2ximament amb un v\u00eddeo.<br \/>\nEns ha agradat molt l&#8217;excursi\u00f3, hem rebut informaci\u00f3 molt interessant.
