Hi ha dos tipus de roques magm\u00e0tiques: Les roques plut\u00f2niques i les volc\u00e0niques (o efusives). El granit \u00e9s la roca plut\u00f2nica m\u00e9s abundant. \u00c9s a dir, es forma pel magma que es refreda lentament a l\u2019interior de l\u2019escor\u00e7a terrestre (sota terra) i d\u00f3na lloc a aquesta pedra.<br \/>\nEl granit est\u00e0 format per tres minerals: quars 30%, feldspat alcal\u00ed 50% i mica (moscovita si \u00e9s clara i biotita si \u00e9s obscura) 20%. La mica pot ser sustituida per hornblenda. Poden haver-hi altres minerals accessoris en quantitats molt petites. Els m\u00e9s visibles s\u00f3n: el feldspat (blanc), la mica (negra) i el quars (gris). Cal afegir que la difer\u00e8ncia dels granits dep\u00e8n per la seva composici\u00f3, cosa que fa que hi hagi una varietat de tipus molt gran.<\/p>\n<p>El granit s\u2019ha utilitzat des de la prehist\u00f2ria en diversos monuments (funeraris, militars, obres p\u00fabliques, etc).<br \/>\nAvui dia, el granit s\u2019utilitza principalment en obres p\u00fabliques per la seva bona densitat, resist\u00e8ncia i varietat de colors. Un dels principals usos del granit \u00e9s servir com a suport en columnes i altres estructures gr\u00e0cies a la seva gran resist\u00e8ncia.<br \/>\nPer totes les caracter\u00edstiques que he mencionat anteriorment i altres (com la seva facilitat per allisar-se molt amb m\u00e0quines de polir), el granit s\u2019ha convertit en una pedra abundant i f\u00e0cil d\u2019explotar (i per aix\u00f2 barata) que reuneix unes caracter\u00edstiques de primera qualitat per ser un material de construcci\u00f3 que s\u2019utilitza des de les cases (fa\u00e7anes, mobles, s\u00f3l&#8230;) fins a paviment urb\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Lloc d\u2019origen:<\/p>\n<p>Vall d\u2019Aran:<br \/>\nEst\u00e0 situada al nord-oest de Catalunya, oest del Pallars Sobir\u00e0, nord de l\u2019alta Ribagor\u00e7a, est d\u2019Arag\u00f3 i sud de Fran\u00e7a.<br \/>\nAl estar als Pirineus (2000 i 3000 metres d\u2019altura, cor del Pirineu axial), el seu relleu \u00e9s muntany\u00f3s. De fet, aqu\u00ed es troben els pics m\u00e9s alts de tota Catalunya.
