Forma part de les calc\u00e0ries o quars.<br \/>\nLa quarsita \u00e9s una roca metam\u00f2rfica dura que originalment era d&#8217;arenisca. Aquesta pedra es va convertir d&#8217;arenisca a quarsita mitjan\u00e7ant la calor i la pressi\u00f3, i com a resultat la cristal\u00b7litzaci\u00f3 del quars. La quarsita pura \u00e9s generalment sempre de color blanc a gris, encara que a vegades\u00a0es\u00a0troben altres de diversos tons de rosa i vermell. Aix\u00f2 passa a causa de les quantitats variables d&#8217;\u00f2xid de ferro. Hi ha altres casos, com les impureses minerals, llavors la quarsita \u00e9s groga o taronja. Quan es produeix la metamorfosi, els grans de quars individuals es recristal\u00b7litzen juntament amb el material antic de la cimentaci\u00f3. La majoria o tota la textura original i les estructures sediment\u00e0ries de l&#8217;arenisca desapareixen pel metamorfisme.<br \/>\nPetites quantitats de materials cementades, \u00f2xid de ferro, carbonat i\u00a0argita\u00a0sovint desapareixen durant la recristal\u00b7litzaci\u00f3 i la metamorfosi.<br \/>\nEst\u00e0 composta essencialment per quars, encara que pot presentar petites quantitats de moscovita, ortosa, albita, etc., i minerals accessoris com granat, grafit i fins i tot or. La seva textura sol ser granobl\u00e0stica (cont\u00e9 grans\u00a0equidimensionals, costats iguals, formada per la recristal\u00b7litzaci\u00f3), que es caracteritza per tenir un mosaic de cristalls.<br \/>\nPresenten colors clars (incolora, blanca, rosada, gris, etc.), encara que si provenen de sorres sil\u00edcies, riques en mat\u00e8ria org\u00e0nica poden ser gaireb\u00e9 negres, per la formaci\u00f3 de grafit. A causa de la seva composici\u00f3 mineral\u00f2gica \u00e9s una roca molt dura i per tant resistent a la meteoritzaci\u00f3 (\u00e9s el conjunt de processos causats pels agents atmosf\u00e8rics que provoquen el trencament i la disgregaci\u00f3 de les roques).<br \/>\nAlguns exemplars es poden confondre amb marbres, per\u00f2 la quarsita sol ser m\u00e9s transl\u00facida (deixa passar la llum, per\u00f2 no permet veure el que hi ha darrere d&#8217;ell), no es ratlla amb una pua d&#8217;acer.<br \/>\nEn les mostres de m\u00e0 la majoria dels grans no s\u00f3n visibles a simple vista, per\u00f2 si sota el microscopi. Aquesta roca presenta una textura &#8221;afan\u00edtica&#8221; (A = no,\u00a0phaneros\u00a0= visible), es produeixen per refredament r\u00e0pid d&#8217;un magma.<br \/>\nLes roques que tenen una textura afan\u00edtica, solen tenir una gran quantitat de ves\u00edcules gasoses al seu interior.<br \/>\nComposici\u00f3:<br \/>\nEssencials: quars,\u00a0accessoris: mica (moscovita, biotita, fuchsita) feldespat (ocrosa,\u00a0microlina, plagi\u00f2clasi acida) minerals pesats d&#8217;origen detr\u00edtic (apatita,\u00a0circ\u00f3, pirita, magnetita, ilmenita,\u00a0etc.); accidentals: granat, grafit, calcita, sulfurs, etc.<\/p>\n<h6>OBSERVACI\u00d3 AMB LUPA<\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/iesm-jmzafra\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3495\" src=\"http:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/iesm-jmzafra\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"gg\" width=\"287\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/inscaterinaalbert\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/inscaterinaalbert\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/inscaterinaalbert\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/inscaterinaalbert\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu164\/2017\/02\/gg-1-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 287px) 100vw, 287px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6>\u00c8POCA GEOL\u00d2GICA<\/h6>\n<p>Es pensa que van apar\u00e8ixer al tri\u00e0sic. Fa aproximadament 250 milions d&#8217;anys que existeixen.<br \/>\nTri\u00e0sic:<br \/>\nEl Tri\u00e0sic \u00e9s el primer Per\u00edode geol\u00f2gic del Mesozoic. El seu inici es troba fa 252 milions d&#8217;anys i finalitza fa 201.<br \/>\nEls sediments caracter\u00edstics del Tri\u00e0sic s\u00f3n gresos vermells i evaporites, que es produeix per al clima sec i c\u00e0lid que hi havia.<br \/>\nEls\u00a0coralls hexacoral\u00b7laris\u00a0sorgiren durant aquest per\u00edode. \u00c9s possible que les primeres plantes amb flors, les angiospermes, apareguessin al Tri\u00e0sic, juntament amb els primers vertebrats voladors, als pterosaures.<\/p>\n<h6>\u00daS<\/h6>\n<p>La quarsita \u00e9s molt resistent a l&#8217;erosi\u00f3 qu\u00edmica i, sovint formen crestes i cims resistents. La s\u00edlice que cont\u00e9 gaireb\u00e9 pur, ofereix poc per formar el s\u00f2l i per tant a partir de les crestes de quarsita s\u00f3n sovint descobertes o cobertes nom\u00e9s amb una capa molt prima de s\u00f2l i poca vegetaci\u00f3. A causa de la seva duresa i la forma angular, la quarsita triturada s&#8217;utilitza sovint com a tren de balast. La quarsita \u00e9s una pedra decorativa i pot ser utilitzat per cobrir parets, teules, com pisos i graons. La quarsita de vegades s&#8217;utilitza en la construcci\u00f3 de carreteres. Quarsita d&#8217;alta puresa s&#8217;utilitza per produir ferrosilici, sorra de s\u00edlice industrial, silici i carbur de silici. Altres usos s\u00f3n com roques ornamentals en la construcci\u00f3 i en escultures.<br \/>\nDurant l&#8217;Edat de Pedra la quarsita va ser usada com un substitut del s\u00edlex, encara que era de menor qualitat.<\/p>\n<h6>LLOC D&#8217;ORIGEN<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Quarsita 1:<\/span><br \/>\nAquesta quarsita va ser trobada al desert de Nam\u00edbia. Es coneix amb el nom de Namib.<br \/>\nEl Namib \u00e9s la zona des\u00e8rtica que s&#8217;est\u00e9n al llarg de la costa de Nam\u00edbia, entre el riu Orange, que marca la frontera amb la Rep\u00fablica de Sud-\u00e0frica, al sud, i el riu Kunene, que marca la frontera amb Angola, al nord.<br \/>\nAquesta zona pertany al Patrimoni de la Humanitat de la UNESCO des del 2013.<br \/>\nT\u00e9 una longitud d&#8217;uns 1.600 km, una amplada que varia entre 80 i 200 km i una extensi\u00f3 propera als 80.000 quil\u00f2metres quadrats.
