Els afloraments existents a les Zones Internes han patit tamb\u00e9 processos de metamorfisme regional per la qual<br \/>\ncosa apareixen sota la denominaci\u00f3 de metabasitas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Composici\u00f3 qu\u00edmica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Densitat: 2,1 g \/ cm3.<\/p>\n<p>Duresa: 5 en l&#8217;Escala Mohs.<br \/>\nComposici\u00f3 mineral\u00f2gica: pirox\u00e8 (duresa 5,5) i plagi\u00f2clasi (duresa 6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Breu descripci\u00f3 (color, textura&#8230;)<\/strong><br \/>\nS\u00f3n roques de color fosc, normalment verdes, les superf\u00edcies alterades presenten tonalitats vermelloses pels \u00f2xids de ferro, alliberats en descompondre els minerals ferromagnesianos (piroxens o anf\u00edboles).<br \/>\nL&#8217;aspecte de la seva superf\u00edcie, quan aquesta est\u00e0 poc alterada recorda a la pell d&#8217;alguns r\u00e8ptils per la qual cosa les va batejar amb aquest nom (ofites de ofidi). Alguns ge\u00f2legs a les diabasas solen anomenar com doleritas.
