In March 2023, our 1st year International Trade and Transport and Logistics students took part in a study trip to enhance their communication skills in English around Europe. Lisbon, Dublin and Brussels were the chosen destinations for varied activities to boost their language skills and also to increase their knowledge of the sector through study-related visits to institutions. They were asked to write a \u201cMobility Journal\u201d, gathering their impressions and experiences. The result was awesome and a great reminder of their study trip.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After carefully considering all the fantastic entries, 10 students were awarded an \u201cecosnorkelling\u201d session run by the organisation Anel\u00b7lides, dedicated to marine environmental education and outreach. If the sea is essential to the development of trading and logistics activities, it is also important to raise awareness of its fragility and our responsibility to protect the environment.<\/p>\n

Before taking the plunge, students were given a short safety explanation. The students then became ecosnorkelling pros picking up rubbish and identifying marine species. They were astonished by the great amount they found of both.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They were particularly stunned by the amount of disposable wipes that end up in the sea from the sewage system, harming biodiversity and marine life. Back on land, they devoted some time to observe and classify the rubbish they found, making sure that no tiny animals were living in the debris. All in all, it was a great morning to bring the school year to an end, with all involved showing a \u201cnever stop learning\u201d attitude!<\/p>\n
