La nostra comunitat educativa a l’Institut Escola Torrelles està experimentant una gran emoció aquests dies, ja que una gran part dels nostres alumnes de 5è i 6è de primària han rebut les seves primeres cartes dels seus penpals a Tujereng, Gàmbia.
És un moment d’emoció palpable, ja que els nostres estudiants s’han dedicat amb molta il·lusió a llegir i comprendre les missives que els seus amics africans els han enviat. Aquest intercanvi epistolar no només reforça el vincle amb els seus penpals, sinó que també contribueix a una millor comprensió de les realitats de vida a Gàmbia.
A través dels nostres projectes educatius com “The Fridge” amb 6è i “Aminata” amb 5è, els estudiants han estat immersos en la cultura i la realitat gambianes. Rebent aquestes cartes, poden connectar directament amb el que han après i veure com es manifesta en la vida real.
A més, aquest intercanvi els fa més conscients de les diversitats de realitats que existeixen al món, reforçant valors d’empatia i comprensió.
Des de l’IE Torrelles, continuem treballant amb entusiasme per enviar més cartes i vídeos en anglès als nostres amics de Tujereng. Esperem amb gran il·lusió les pròximes cartes i la continuïtat d’aquest enriquidor intercanvi cultural.

Excitement at IE Torrelles with Penpal Letters from Tujereng, The Gambia
Our educational community at Institut Escola Torrelles is experiencing great excitement these days, as a significant portion of our 5th and 6th-grade students have received their first letters from their penpals in Tujereng, The Gambia.
It’s a moment of palpable excitement as our students have eagerly devoted themselves to reading and understanding the missives sent by their African friends. This penpal exchange not only strengthens the bond with their penpals but also contributes to a better understanding of the realities of life in The Gambia.
Through our educational projects like “The Fridge” with 6th grade and “Aminata” with 5th grade, students have been immersed in Gambian culture and reality. By receiving these letters, they can directly connect with what they’ve learned and see how it manifests in real life.
Moreover, this exchange makes them more aware of the diversity of realities that exist in the world, reinforcing values of empathy and understanding.
At IE Torrelles, we continue to work enthusiastically to send more letters and videos in English to our friends in Tujereng. We eagerly await the next letters and the continuation of this enriching cultural exchange.
